Experiencing nature

The Black Forest is a popular destination for holidaymakers and visitors due to its dense forests, magnificent mountain peaks that offer spectacular views and the mysterious glacial lakes and romantic valleys. The picture postcard sights: the charming small Black Forest farms nestled into the hills, glimmering lakes, open moors and romantic gorges.

Naturparks - Schwarzwälder gestalten ihre Heimat

Two large nature parks share nearly the entire area of the Black Forest. One is the Naturpark Schwarzwald Mitte/Nord and is situated in the northern and central Black Forest, and the other, the Naturpark Südschwarzwald, is located in the southern Black Forest.

Mountains

Experience your very own special moment on top of a mountain. No matter whether you choose to go hiking or rock climbing you will enjoy magnificent views over the Black Forest and if the weather is good even as far as the Alps. The mountains of Feldberg, Schauinsland and Hornisgrinde and many more mountain peaks are waiting to be mastered by you.

Rangers and Black Forest guides

Black Forest guides and rangers from the ranks of the mountain rescue services and the Schwarzwaldverein are at work in the Feldberg Mountain region. In the summer months, from mid-July to mid-September, you will be supported by summer rangers, a group of science students. There is always at least one ranger doing his job in the Feldberg area as well as in the Wutach Gorge – (Wutachschlucht).
